WordPress has announced a major security flaw with WordPress versions 2.6.3 and lower. The exploit has to do with a flaw in the WordPress RSS feed file. The exploit could allow a knowledgeable person with malicious intent to take control of your website. The upgrade to 2.6.5 is an easy one and you can actually just replace the feed.php and version.php files if you only want to fix this security issue.
If you are one of our customers, your site was updated on the day the fix was released.

Throughout the course of developing WordPress sites on a daily basis I have needed to learn the proper way to develop a custom plugin. When I went about learning this process I learned The WordPress Codex does a good job at giving you the information you need to make a plugin, but it is lacking in some additional information. There have been a couple of good articles previously written about creating WordPress plugins. Below you will find the links to these articles, links to some useful areas of the WordPress Codex, and some of my own insights on WordPress plugin development.

There are a few things in life that are as rewarding as launching a brand new web site. Things like -
- Ice cold water on a hot muggy day.
- A cold beer during a baseball game.
- College graduation.
- And, getting that girl’s telephone number.
We are oh so proud to announce the launch of the new Pelham Children’s Theater WordPress site today. Pete Rocco has been a gentleman through this process - communicating requirements back and forth between the orginization’s board and the Nicasio design team, and yet keeping his cool all along. I tell you we cannot complain when a customer comes to us with a clear vision of where he wants to be. Great job Pete!
I see Felix has already written an introductory post for our latest website launch (www.easthampster.com) so instead of saying the same thing twice and boring our loyal followers I’d like to take this opportunity to give some thanks to the few individuals involved in making this project a success.
All of us at Nicasio were extremely happy to work with Tom from easthampster.com because of his excitement and personal involvement in the entire process. Its true that Tom might not have known some of the more technical aspects that went into the project but his ability to set realistic goals joined with his willingness to learn is what made working together on this project very fulfilling on not just a business level but personally as well. So to Tom, Thank You—We look forward to growing our partnership and working with you to further enhance your new WordPress MU website in the future.
We are proud to announce the launch of easthampster.com a WordPress Multi User super site. At least we like to think it is.

Tom came to us exausted from having to deal with the dreadful issues which araise from having the wrong firm work on his passion’s web portal. “I am about ready to give up Felix.” He said to me - “This is the third time I approach someone about my site, and if you guys can’t do it, I am giving up.” Well, Tom is one happy camper now with his brand spankin’ new WordPressMU site. He is now able to boast about the following features:
We’ve been developing websites and discovering all the more using the WordPress blog software. We’ve been using WordPress for a bit now and we have learned a few things. One of the greatest things about it is the large number of WordPress plugins available. In fact we’ve found some very useful WordPress plugins to use on your custom WordPress site. These are going to be useful for personal blogs or business blogs or anything else under the sun.
Akismet
It stands for Automatic Kismet. Some people face problems with spam on their blogs, some don’t but this solves everyone’s problem. It checks your comments for text that looks like spam against a database of known spam messages and styles.
Our blog, the blog for Nicasio Design, was made with the blog software known as WordPress. It dutifully helped us make our blog easy to use primarily due to it’s flexibility for customization and ease of use when it comes to making your custom blog the way you want it to be. I would suggest it to our customers in a heart beat, whether for personal blog or a business blog use for a couple of reasons.

There are often websites that wow you, but from time to time there is the rare site that just blows you out of the water! I think Chris has made this his goal with the GIS Day Savannah’s WordPress website.
I hope Chris will post an article soon about his thoughts on what and how he was motivated to produce this WordPress site. We have received much kudos from the WordPress community already; “Nice! And not very WordPressy - which is a good thing. Too many WordPress sites look like… WordPress sites.”

Over and over again, many persons will start out with developing their own site. They set up WordPress and choose a cookie cutter template that is probably being used on hundreds of sites somewhere on the Web. Can you guess what happens next? Well, let’s shed some light on this topic because it is very important for your site and your business.
